Volunteers Debby Gagnon, Fran Tibbet, Pei Pei Gunter, Sandi Geer, and Kathy Barbay planted 300 American flags in the Canyon Lake Veterans Memorial Park to complete the Field of Honor, which will be on display through Veterans Day.
The city invites the Canyon Lake community to honor a veteran or active duty service member this Veterans Day with a flag in the Field of Honor.
The cost of a sponsored flag is $10. Each sponsored flag features a dog tag with the name of the honoree on it. The non-sponsored flags feature a yellow ribbon.
To sponsor a flag, visit Pack, Wrap, and Post in the Canyon Lake Towne Center at 31566 Railroad Canyon Rd., Suite 2 or call 951-244-3519. The deadline to sponsor a flag is Friday, November 10.
Individuals who sponsored a flag may pick it up from the Field of Honor and take it home on Sunday, November 12.
