Kids, coaches, and the fire department worked alongside volunteers to clean up the Little League fields in preparation for Opening Day and the 2023 season.
More than 30 volunteers filled holes, replaced bases, built up the pitcher’s mound, cleaned the dugouts, raked leaves, picked up trash, and prepared the infield.
“Thank you to the volunteers who showed up to help,” Vice President Jason Cleveland said. “We greatly appreciate all of your hard work.”
“It was nice to see our fire department supporting the Little League and working side by side with the kids and other volunteers,” volunteer Chris Papavero said. “They really are a part of our Canyon Lake family and have proved that time and time again.”

A second clean-up is planned for February 25 at 8 a.m. The community is invited to participate.
The league will be kicking off the season on March 3 with Friday Night Lights, featuring a Major Division game between the River Bandits and the Trash Pandas. Opening Day is March 4.
Canyon Lake Little League serves Boys and girls ages four to 14 who reside in Canyon Lake, Canyon Hills, and Westridge. All home games will be played at Canyon Lake’s Gault Field.
