The Riverside Police Department’s Sex Registrant Compliance Unit issued a public safety alert today regarding a known sex offender experiencing homelessness who has an outstanding warrant for his arrest for violating the terms of his parole and sex registration.Vonnie James, 56, was released from the county jail on July 30 after serving half of his sentence for failing to register as a sex offender and parole violations. James cut off his mandatory GPS ankle monitor four days after his release, according to officials. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
James is six foot one, weighs 210 pounds, and is usually found in Riverside.
