Early election results show Dale Welty, Jordan Ehrenkranz, and Larry Greene in the lead.

Early election results in the Canyon Lake City Council race show Dale Welty in the lead with 1,734 votes. Behind Welty are incumbents Jordan Ehrenkranz with 1,624 votes and Larry Greene with 1,543 votes. James “Jim” Randle with 1,043 votes and Paul Kakis with 999 votes trail.

The three candidates with the most votes will serve on the council for a term of four years.

Election results have stalled as the county continues to tabulate votes. Approximately 381,000 Vote-by-Mail and 25,000 Provisional ballots still need to be processed. Ballots that are postmarked on or before November 3 also remain to be counted. The next updated results will be posted on the County of Riverside Registrar of Voters website on November 6 at 6 p.m.

The three elected council members will join Mayor Pro-Tem Casey Castillo and Councilman Jerry Smith, whose terms expire in 2022.

If re-elected, Ehrenkranz will serve a fourth term and Greene a second term on the council. Welty, who served two terms on the Canyon Lake POA Board of Directors, will serve his first term on the council if elected.
