During a special meeting on April 11, the Wildomar City Council voted to place City Manager Dan York on paid administrative leave. The council also directed the city attorney to negotiate a mutual separation agreement, which may include early retirement.

York was appointed city manager on February 1, 2022, succeeding Gary Nordquist, who had been with the city since 2009 and was appointed city manager in January 2013.

To ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity in city operations, the council appointed City Clerk Janet Morales as acting city manager.

The city said the council will move quickly to identify an interim city manager and begin the search for a permanent city manager.
