On Halloween morning, the serene waters of Canyon Lake will once again transform into a spooky spectacle as witches and warlocks trade broomsticks for paddles in support of breast cancer awareness.
This annual tradition, now a hallmark of the community, draws costumed paddlers who come together for a fun and meaningful cause.
This year, the witches have extended an invitation to men (warlocks), making the event a co-ed tradition for the first time.
Participants, decked out in their best witches and warlock costumes, will launch from Moonstone Beach at 9 a.m.
Yacht Club Commodore Rob Mora and Lainie Cooney invite participants to stop by their dock, near the causeway on the main lake side, for complimentary drinks as they make their way to the tunnel. The dock will be decorated so it will be easy for paddlers to identify.
While there is no registration or participation fee, paddlers are encouraged to make a donation to a breast cancer awareness organization of their choice, supporting the cause while enjoying a morning on the water.
Whether paddling or cheering from the shore, this Halloween morning event is a unique way to raise awareness and show support for breast cancer advocacy and research.
