A woman is in critical condition following an officer-involved shooting late Saturday night in the City of Wildomar.
On May 10 at approximately 11:50 p.m., Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a residence in the 32000 block of Lakeview Terrace regarding a report of a female brandishing a firearm.
When deputies approached the residence, the female suspect exited with a firearm. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect refused to comply with commands and pointed the weapon at the deputies, prompting a deputy-involved shooting.
Deputies provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
No additional injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
The deputies involved will be placed on paid administrative leave per department policy. The names of the suspect and the involved deputies were not released.
