Equipment was delivered last week for the Sierra Park North Development project. Crews will begin surveying and excavating for the large retaining walls today, according to the Canyon Lake POA.
This project will encompass preparing the land area by grading, adding retaining walls, stormwater retention, and utilities. A new access drive and parking area will also be added.
The new family park will include a bicycle pump track, shaded playground, shaded picnic areas with picnic tables and barbecues, loop trails with fitness stations, parking spaces, sidewalks, and restrooms.
In May, members voted in favor of the development of Sierra Park North and authorized the POA to spend an amount not to exceed $2 million, with a 10 percent contingency, from Capital Improvement Fund to fully develop the park.
