A $49 million project to expand State Route 74 is scheduled to begin on February 22. The project will span from the Riverside and Orange County border to Monte Vista Street just west of Lake Elsinore.
The work includes widening the existing lanes to 12 feet, adding four-foot shoulders, and grounding in rumble strips in both the centerline and shoulders. The project is expected to be completed in February 2025.
Work hours will be Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Weekend hours will be overnight shifts from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
