On August 30, the Canyon Lake POA presented its Marine Patrol report for incidents from July 29 through August 25.
Marine Patrol received 170 calls for service. Staff performed 33 boat safety inspections, 16 boat tows, four battery assists, five fishing license checks, and 42 quagga inspections.
Staff issued 21 citations. They include three citations for expired/no registration (POA), one citation for failure to present a valid ID, and 17 miscellaneous citations.
In addition to written citations, staff issued six written warnings and 49 verbal warnings.
Patrol boats operated 158 hours on the main lake, 105.2 hours on the East Bay, and 13.1 hours on the north ski area.
Boat one operated 142.6 hours, boat two operated 104.3 hours, boat three operated 16.1 hours, and boat four operated 13.1 hours.
There was one incident of a hazmat spill at the Holiday Harbor launch ramp.
Marine Patrol employees are employed by the POA. Its primary functions are compliance with rules and regulations, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting to the POA.
