Canyon Lake is gearing up for its most anticipated annual celebration as Fiesta Day returns on Saturday, May 23.
Dubbed the granddaddy of all Canyon Lake events, Fiesta Day has been a cherished tradition for more than four decades, bringing together thousands of residents and their guests to honor patriotism and community spirit.
This year’s celebration will be especially meaningful as the community commemorates America’s 250th anniversary, honoring the nation’s history, patriotic spirit, and the unity that continues to bring the Canyon Lake community together.
The day will commence with the iconic hometown parade at 9 a.m., featuring decorated golf carts, bicycles, floats, trucks, trailers, performance groups, local dignitaries, clubs, organizations, and businesses.
The parade will start at the intersection of Canyon Lake Drive North and Mayflower Drive. It will travel along Canyon Lake Drive North and turn right at Vacation Drive, ending at Lighthouse Drive.
There will be no parking from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Canyon Lake Drive North (from Steelhead Drive to Vacation Drive) and Vacation Drive to Lighthouse Drive.
The parade staging streets are Spray Drive, Smugglers Point Drive, Sloop Drive, and Clearwater Drive. Line-up begins at 7 a.m. Staging streets will re-open after the parade ends at approximately 10 a.m.
The following streets will close at 8:30 a.m. and remain closed until after the parade ends:
- Canyon Lake Drive North, west of Steel Head Drive to the Vacation Drive stop sign
- Vacation Drive, from the stop sign to Lighthouse Drive
- Blue Teal Drive
- Village Way at Main Causeway
- Canyon Club Drive and Lighthouse Drive will be the exit route for the parade participants to head toward the locations where festivities are planned
After the parade, free activities and entertainment will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge, the pool, and Holiday Harbor Park.
Activities at the lodge include bubble play, a dunk tank, an inflatable sports game, two balloon artists, a reptile show, and a ski show. Food vendors include URBN Market Fusion, Carl’s Concessions, Cali Porker BBQ, Ay Mama Lupita, The Big Easy Sandwich, Tiki Treatz, Salvi Nation, and the CLAMS serving bratwursts.
The lodge pool will feature paddle boats, bubble rollers, and gaga ball.
Activities at Holiday Harbor include a rock wall, multiple waterslides, bubble play, a tub-style amusement ride, and a swing ride. Food vendors include Bootleg Bistro, Kona ice, The Mac Truck, Billy’s Gooey Liciousness, and Frosty Sipz.
To facilitate easy transportation between event sites, free golf cart and boat shuttle services will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The boat shuttle, courtesy of the Yacht Club, will transport attendees to and from the lodge and Holiday Harbor Park. Golf cart shuttles will stop at the lodge and Holiday Harbor Park. Pickup and drop-off will be available approximately every 30 minutes at the intersection of Canyon Lake Drive and Vacation Drive, the Community Patrol Office On Canyon Lake Drive South and Blue Bird Drive, Gault Field on Longhorn Drive, the Senior Center near the main gate, and Sierra Park on Vacation Drive.
