The Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) has announced the selection of Jacque Casillas, mayor of the City of Corona, as chair of its 2026-27 Executive Committee. The vote took place during the WRCOG’ s annual General Assembly on June 18, where more than 100 representatives from member agencies gathered to celebrate regional collaboration.
Mayor Casillas has served as a member of WRCOG for more than five years, representing the City of Corona throughout her tenure. She has previously held the positions of vice chair and second vice chair on the WRCOG Executive Committee. In addition to her Executive Committee service, Mayor Casillas has served as vice chair of the Administration and Finance Committee, and second vice chair on the Inland Regional Energy Network (I-REN).
As chair, Mayor Casillas will help guide the agency’s most impactful regional initiatives, including the Transportation Uniform Mitigation Fee (TUMF) Program, which funds critical regional transportation infrastructure improvements for member agencies, and the Inland Regional Energy Network (I-REN)— a tri-agency partnership that delivers no-cost energy efficiency resources, workforce education and training, and codes and standards support to communities across the Inland Empire.
Under her leadership, WRCOG will continue advancing its Energy Resilience Plan, which includes microgrid feasibility studies and Community Resilience Center (CRC) development to strengthen energy security across Western Riverside County, as well as WRCOG’s clean transportation and zero-emission vehicle initiatives, regional solid waste recycling programs, and ongoing efforts to support disadvantaged and hard-to-reach communities throughout the subregion.

Also selected to WRCOG’s 2026-27 Executive Committee leadership were Beaumont Councilman Mike Lara as vice chair and Eastvale Councilman Christian Dinco as second vice chair.
