The Canyon Lake Association of Men (CLAMS) has been in existence for more than 40 years. The nonprofit organization raises funds throughout the year to donate to select charitable organizations and those in need in and around southwest Riverside County.
Recently, the CLAMS presented donations to the Boys and Girls Club of Southwest County, Helping Hands Group, Helping Our People of Elsinore Food Pantry, and Animal Friends of the Valleys.
Boys and Girls Club of Southwest County provides academic support, sports, arts, S.T.E.M., career readiness, and leadership programs through before and after-school programs and day camps at its three site locations in Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, and the surrounding communities. Its mission is to inspire, enable, and support all youth to realize their full potential as successful, responsible, and impactful members of the community.
Helping Hands Group is a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization that offers assistance in the form of long-term and immediate relief with food, clothing, guidance, hands-on support, and prayer. The all-volunteer community service organization serves the cities of Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, Menifee, Perris, Hemet, French Valley, and Moreno Valley.
Established in 1990, Helping Our People of Lake Elsinore Food Panty (HOPE) serves the residents of Lake Elsinore and surrounding communities within the boundaries of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. The Lake Elsinore Unified School District serves K-12 students in the cities of Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, and Wildomar, and several unincorporated Riverside County communities, including Lakeland Village and Horsethief Canyon.
In 1987, Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV) was the only animal shelter in southwest Riverside County and was operated by the city of Lake Elsinore. At the time, the shelter was not open to the public for adoptions. Today. AFV is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers animals for adoption and provides animal services to the cities of Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, Wildomar, Menifee, Murrieta, and Temecula.
Last month, the CLAMS made a donation to 4 Paws 4 Patriots, an organization in Menifee that pairs disabled American veterans and untrained dogs and then trains them together to become a service dog team, and Peppermint Ridge, an organization in Corona that was established in 1959 to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities.
