Five individuals were injured this morning around 10:30 a.m. when their Can-Am ATV rolled and landed in the water in Canyon Lake. The vehicle was illegally operating off-road near the Roy Kabian Memorial Park, according to Canyon Lake Mayor Kasey Castillo.

The area where the accident occurred is owned by the Bureau of Land Management but is inside the city boundaries of Canyon Lake, according to City of Canyon Lake Code Enforcement.

Cal Fire and AMR were stationed in Canyon Lake at the north causeway to assist the injured individuals. A Canyon Lake POA boat was used to assist emergency personnel in transporting the victims from the location to the dock at the north causeway.

Three of the individuals were transported to the hospital, according to Castillo. “There were no fatalities,” she said.
