On Saturday morning, about 25 riders completed the 17-mile Tour de Canyon Lake bike ride. This free community event was hosted by the Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club to benefit Animal Friends of the Valleys.
The Tour de Canyon Lake is a group ride and not a race. Cyclists riding tandem bikes, mountain bikes, cruisers, triathlon bikes, and electric bikes enjoyed great weather, camaraderie, and cookies after the ride.
The route started at the lodge and traveled to the main gate, down Continental, to the east gate, to the north gate, down Longhorn to the campground, and then back to the lodge.

Pet food, toys, and $265 were donated to benefit Animal Friends of the Valleys. Participants received a newly re-designed club T-shirt in exchange for their donation.
The club’s next event will be the members-only Spring Sprint Triathlon on Saturday, April 23. This event features a short swim followed by a 12-mile bike and a 5K run. Participants can complete all three legs individually or any of the three legs.
The Triathlon and Fitness Club invites residents who enjoy cycling, running, swimming, and other fitness activities to join the fun. Annual dues are only $35 per individual or $40 for families. Members enjoy a variety of benefits, including group cycling meetups, run meetups, open water swims and pool workouts, triathlon events, full access to the club’s Facebook page, discounts on gear, a year-end party, and a membership gift.
In addition to member-only events, the club hosts free community events, including the Tour de Canyon Lake, Paddle and Pedal Regatta, and the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.
