At its June 1 meeting, the Murrieta City Council declared its support for a potential buyer that would transform the Murrieta Hot Springs site (currently the Calvary Chapel Christian Center and Bible College campus) back to a resort that provides luxury health, wellness, and recreation, as well as public access options for the local community.
For many years, the 43-acre site has been largely unavailable to the general public. With the Bible College putting the $50 million property up for sale, Murrieta Hot Springs may return to its roots as a regional resort.
The property, located at 39401 Murrieta Hot Springs Rd. near the I-15/I-215 interchange, is zoned for civic or institutional land use and is offered in its current condition.
Murrieta Hot Springs has been a part of our community for more than a century. The historic site includes original hot springs that feed into a large pool, with five soaking spots and a Roman spa. Thirty-eight buildings dot the property: a dozen lodges and 248 rooms, classrooms, and meeting spaces. The property also features walkways, a small lake, tennis courts, and a sports field.
