The City of Lake Elsinore will be opening its first-ever neighborhood Youth Room on Tuesday, September 6, at 117 S. Langstaff St. The Youth Room will be open Monday through Friday from 2 to 6:30 p.m.
The Youth Room provides a safe place for kids in 5th through 8th grades to hang out, play video and board games, do homework, watch movies, and more. Programs that encourage growth, develop leadership skills, and build new relationships and self-esteem will be offered.
The Youth Room is a drop-in program, students will be allowed to come and go as they please. Staff will encourage participants to stay, but cannot and will not force them to. All participants must sign in when they enter the Youth Room and sign out when they leave, failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.
A Youth Room membership will be required to enter the Youth Room. Memberships cost $5 for the 2022/2023 school year. A completed Welcome Packet signed by a parent or guardian is also required.
Appropriate clothing must be worn while in the Youth Center. This includes but is not limited to sagging, excessively loose or revealing clothing, and clothing that displays or makes drug, tobacco, or alcohol references.
