On August 2, the Canyon Lake POA presented its Marine Patrol report for incidents from June 25 through July 28.
Marine Patrol received 246 calls for service. Staff performed 123 boat safety inspections, 30 boat tows, two battery assists, two fishing license checks, and 50 quagga inspections.
Staff issued 16 citations. They include four citations for expired/no registration (state), two citations for expired/no registration (POA), four citations for expired/no registration at a dock or lift, and six “other” citations. No citations were issued for excessive wake in a no-wake zone, reckless behavior while operating a motorized boat, plowing, noise, or fishing.
In addition to written citations, staff issued 12 written warnings and 99 verbal warnings.
Patrol boats operated 302 hours on the main lake, 196.5 hours on the East Bay, and 32.4 hours on the north ski area.
Boat one operated 220.6 hours, boat two operated 227.6 hours, boat three operated 32.4 hours, and boat four operated 50.3 hours.
No incidents were reported.
Marine Patrol employees are employed by the POA. Its primary functions are compliance with rules and regulations, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting to the POA.
