An undercover sting targeting child predators landed a Yucaipa man in jail on Friday.

On August 7, deputies from the Perris Station’s Special Enforcement Team began an online undercover operation, posing as a 13-year-old female. During the investigation, a response was received through electronic communication from Guy Vincent Schneider, a 63-year-old resident of Yucaipa.

Over the following days, Schneider continued to communicate with the undercover deputies, expressing his intent to meet and engage in sex acts with the underaged female, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

On August 30, deputies arranged to meet Schneider and subsequently arrested him. Schneider was found to be in possession of two firearms at the time he was taken into custody, the department said. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on charges that included arranging to meet with a minor, contacting a minor with the intent for sexual acts, and attempting lewd acts with a minor. His bail has been set at $1,000,000, jail records show.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Deputy Hartert at the Perris Sheriff’s Station at 951- 210–1000
