The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station issued 33 citations, made six criminal cases for possession with intent to distribute fireworks, and seized approximately 750 pounds of fireworks during enforcement efforts over the 4th of July weekend.
The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station’s Special Enforcement Team and Investigations Bureau conducted the operation to combat illegal and dangerous fireworks within the community. Throughout the operation, numerous individuals were contacted, cited, and educated about the dangers associated with lighting illegal fireworks in their communities.
In total, 33 citations were issued for possession of fireworks and six criminal violations for possession with intent to distribute fireworks. Approximately 750 pounds of fireworks were seized and will be destroyed by the Riverside Sheriff’s Hazardous Devices Team.
