On Wednesday, September 4, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant in the 33000 block of Westlong Street in the unincorporated area of Lake Elsinore, uncovering an illegal marijuana cultivation site.

The main residence and an additional dwelling on the property had been converted into grow operations. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, 815 marijuana plants in various stages of growth were located and eradicated. Southern California Edison responded to the residence and disconnected power to the electrical system within the residence that had been illegally altered. The location was vacant, and there are no suspects in custody at this time.

The search warrant stemmed from complaints received by the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team on September 3 regarding suspected illegal marijuana cultivation at the residence.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Deputy Olson 951-245-3300.
