Moreno Valley arrested on suspicion of murder

A 54-year-old Moreno Valley man was arrested on suspicion of murder following a stabbing in the 21000 block of Elmwood Street, in the unincorporated area of Perris known as Mead Valley.

On Thursday, August 27, at about 7 p.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of an assault with a deadly weapon and located the victim on the ground suffering from injuries consistent with stab wounds. Despite life-saving measures, the victim was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

During the investigation, deputies identified the suspect as 54-year-old Ruben Estrada of Moreno Valley. Estrada was located at the scene and taken into custody without incident. He was booked on suspicion of murder.

The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time pending next-of-kin notification.
