Canyon Lake teen Nic Welty participated in the USTA Boys 14U Tennis Tournament on Father’s Day at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego and won five matches to win his division.
Fourteen-year-old Welty has been playing tennis since the age of four. He plays competitively on the Canyon Lake Jr. Tennis League, which runs throughout the year.
Welty’s tennis coach is Bobby Kielty, who works with the Canyon Lake Jr. team four days a week. Under Kielty’s direction, Welty is quickly advancing to the next level.
