The City of Menifee is in the process of redrawing district lines based on new census data. A dedicated redistricting website is live, and the city is asking the public to participate by attending a workshop, submitting a public comment form, or submitting their own draft map for consideration.
The website includes links to an online mapping tool and the public comment form is accessible through the city’s website at www.cityofmenifee.us/redistricting.
“Public input into the redistricting process is critical,” City Clerk Sarah Manwaring said. “Our office encourages and is available to answer any questions or receive comments that residents may have.”
The city will hold its first public workshop on Wednesday, December 1, at 1 p.m. at the Sun City Library, 26982 Cherry Hills Blvd. A draft map will be presented in February 2022 at the conclusion of the public workshops. The public will then have an opportunity to comment before a final map is adopted in March 2022.
Census data reveals the City of Menifee’s population now stands at 102,527. For more information about the redistricting process, email [email protected].
