On May 1, the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association presented its Marine Patrol report for incidents that occurred from March 30 through April 26. The report highlighted 187 calls for service.
Staff performed 79 boat safety inspections, 46 quagga inspections, 9 boat tows, and 28 debris/other retrieval and disposal.
In addition to 34 verbal warnings, staff issued 38 citations. They include 19 expired/no registration (state) citations, 15 expired/no registration at a dock or lift citations, one excessive wake in a no wake zone citation, one reckless behavior while operating a motorized boat citation, and two “other” citations.
Patrol boats operated 210 hours on the main lake, 138.1 hours on the East Bay, and 4.9 hours on the north ski area.
Boat one operated 170.7 hours, boat two operated 176.8 hours, boat three operated 4.9 hours, and boat four operated 0.6 hours.
Unlike Community Patrol personnel, Marine Patrol staff are employees of the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association. Marine Patrol’s primary functions are compliance with rules and regulations, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting.
