Four arrests were made during a DUI Checkpoint on Friday, May 8, in the City of Moreno Valley. The checkpoint was conducted from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. at Alessandro Boulevard and Alessandro Plaza.
Deputies screened 925 vehicles, resulting in five Field Sobriety Tests (FSTs), two arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol, one arrest for a felony warrant, and one arrest for a misdemeanor warrant.
Deputies issued 20 citations for driving without a driver’s license, four citations for driving with an expired driver’s license, one citation for driving with a suspended driver’s license, and one citation for driving out of class. One vehicle was towed.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
