The City of Murrieta has officially taken delivery of a new state-of-the-art Mobile Command Center, marking a significant investment in public safety and emergency preparedness.
The project was made possible through the support of the Murrieta City Council and substantial federal appropriations secured with assistance from Congressman Darrell Issa.
Designed to support critical operations anywhere in the city, the Mobile Command Center is equipped with advanced communications systems, mobile incident command capabilities, real-time monitoring and coordination technology, and backup Emergency Operations Center (EOC) functionality.
City officials say the vehicle was built for long-term service and is expected to remain a vital public safety asset for the next 20 years and beyond. The command center will enhance the city’s ability to respond to a wide range of emergencies, including wildfires, tactical operations, major criminal investigations, cybersecurity incidents, and large community events.
The new Mobile Command Center will serve as a shared regional resource for the Murrieta Police Department, Murrieta Fire & Rescue, and the Southwest Cities SWAT Team, further strengthening Murrieta’s emergency response infrastructure.
The vehicle is expected to play a key role in supporting both planned events and emergency incidents, allowing first responders and emergency personnel to establish a centralized command post wherever it is needed most.
