The Canyon Lake Library recently added more than 100 newly released titles to its shelves and expanded its new book sections for both children and adults. It also received an additional 50 large print books.
In addition, the library is now selling a selection of books and digital media. The selection ranges from children to adults. Book prices range from .50 to $2. Audiobooks sell for $2, movies sell for $1, and music CDs sell for .50. Proceeds go toward materials for crafting, event entertainment, giveaways, and necessary equipment. The library is accepting donations of gently used books for its sale.
April 3 through April 9 is National Library Week, a time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. There will be activities and giveaways during this week-long celebration and children will have the opportunity to win prizes for scavenger hunts, bingo, and coloring. Prizes include stuffed animals, water bottles, notebooks, and more.
On April 2 and April 16 at 11 a.m., Miss Allison will be hosting the Bilingual Storytime. The stories are ideal for children through the age of six.
On Saturday, April 30, the library will be celebrating El Día de los Niños (Day of the Child). There will be activities all day long with a free bag giveaway, while supplies last, and a chance to earn a free book that pays tribute to children.
On Wednesdays at 10:30, a story and a craft are offered with Miss Ginny or Miss Gretchen. Homework Help is also offered on Wednesdays from 3 to 4 p.m.
With seating, charging stations, computers, and free guest Wi-Fi, the library is a great place to study, read, or work.
The library is located at 31594 Railroad Canyon Rd. Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The library is closed on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. For more information, contact the library at 951-244-9181.
