As summer approaches and more residents spend time outdoors, the Hemet Police Department is reminding the community to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity. Law enforcement officials note that crime trends often see an increase during the warmer months, making community awareness and cooperation especially important.
The department is encouraging residents to follow the simple but effective message: “If you see something, say something.”
Along with the reminder, the Hemet Police Department released its enforcement and activity statistics for May.
During the month of May, officers responded to 7,093 calls for service and took 1,480 reports. Officers made 376 arrests, recovered 13 firearms, and located nine stolen vehicles. Thirteen stolen vehicles were reported.
Officers recorded 102 drug violations, made 20 DUI arrests, and conducted 209 pedestrian checks.
Traffic enforcement remained a significant focus, with officers conducting 1,099 traffic stops, issuing 522 citations, and responding to 187 traffic collisions throughout the city.
The department also utilized drone technology to assist with operations, conducting 221 drone flights.
